Martin Connor was a Consultant Microbiologist, Infection Control Doctor and Clinical Director Diagnostics at NHS Dumfries and Galloway until he retired from the NHS in 2024. He qualified in medicine from the University of Glasgow in 1988 and subsequently joined the Royal Air Force.

Martin was the Clinical Lead of the Scottish Microbiology & Virology Network (SMVN) from 2018 -2024. His main interests are in medico-legal aspects of microbiology, infection control and management of infection.
